Principal Changes in Store for Next School Year

Bob and Heidi Ostrom, who have shared the co-principal role at Evergreen School for  two years, are retiring in June.

“I can’t thank Bob and Heidi enough for their dedication and service to Evergreen,” said SFSD Superintendent Andy Bellando. “Under their leadership the school has provided such a warm and nurturing environment for our students to grow and learn.”

Jamie McCarty, currently principal at Silver Crest and Victor Point Schools, will take over duties at Evergreen in the fall. While Mr. McCarty will remain principal at Victor Point, he will no longer be principal of Silver Crest.

“Mr. McCarty has done a great job at Silver Crest for the past two years,” said Bellando. “Taking over at Evergreen will enable him to be principal at two schools that are close to each other with a total enrollment of about 300 students.”

Mark Hannan, currently the principal of Silverton High School, will fill the vacancy at Silver Crest.

“Mr. Hannan began his career as an educator at Victor Point School and has effectively served Silverton High School for the past seven years. He is excited about returning to a K-8 setting and brings several positive qualities to the position,” Bellando said.

The replacement for Mr. Hannan at Silverton High School has yet to be determined.
