Silverton Swim Team Ends Season with Record-Breaking Success

This season, the Silverton Aqua Foxes had dozens of podium finishes for both the boys’ and girls’ teams, and their fans showed up in force.

“Our fan base was amazing! They were the biggest and loudest fans at the District and State Meet,” said Coach (and SHS Math Teacher) Lucky Rogers.

For the first time in school history, the Aqua Foxes placed in the top ten at the State Meet as a team, with the boys placing 8th and the girls placing 7th. Furthermore, five relays placed in state, with three relays breaking school records to get there.

Individually, Senior Jason Orr earned a medal as he placed 4th in the freestyle and 2nd in the backstroke, culminating in the highest individual finish ever at the state meet for the Aqua Foxes. Likewise, Kyle Reiser posed a threat as he entered the State Meet as a breaststroke district champion — the first Aqua Fox to do so since 1993.
