Superintendent’s Message

I’d like to thank all of the parents and community members who participated in the recent ThoughtExchange engagement process. Your feedback on priorities will help guide our future goal setting at both the district office and within each individual school.

Whether or not you were able to participate, we’d like to invite you to take a few minutes to review the results on our ThoughtExchange Website.

We are glad to hear from so many of you and pleased to receive many more compliments than complaints. That said, we believe it’s important to understand both what’s working in education and also where we need to improve.

One of many common areas of interest has been facilities – with both positive and constructive comments. As you know, it’s been a busy time for our team as we’ve restructured to move students from the Eugene Field building that is now for sale.

As you look at the ThoughtExchange information, keep in mind that the district results represent a compilation of each of the school’s individual results. Moving forward together, we will continue enhancing the learning environment for our kids.

On another note, October was National Principal’s Month and I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for the dedicated, hard-working and truly top-notch principals we have in our district. Being a principal is a very challenging job and ours continually go the extra mile to help our students succeed. I would like to thank each and every one of them for the tremendous jobs they do to each day to ensure our schools are running smoothly and our students are thriving.
