October Message from Superintendent Andy Bellando

We’re off to a good start after a busy summer of moving and reconfiguring. The students and staff seem to be settling in and enthusiastic about the new school year. I’d like to thank everyone – our team, our students, our families, and our community members for their support and cooperation during this time of transition. I’ve been inspired by everyone’s commitment to create great learning environments for our kids. On a personal note, it’s great having the middle school team and students right next door to the district office. I love looking out my window and seeing the kids on the athletic field. It reminds me why we’re all here.

During the first few weeks of school, we experienced a handful of transportation challenges as we work to create a partnership with our new provider, Durham School Services. I want to apologize for any disruption or inconvenience that occurred. I’m glad to report that we’re working through the transition and things are going smoothly now. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. We’re looking forward to a new, safer and more efficient transportation program.

As we move into the second month of school, our team remains passionate about helping students succeed. Our strategic goals to increase graduation rates, improve attendance and engage our students in learning will continue to guide everything we do.

Thanks for keeping education a priority for our Silver Falls School District communities.
