The entire cast and crew of Pratum K-8 is gearing up to debut the school’s first play in six years. The curtain will rise on “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” on May 19 – 20 at 7 p.m.
All 80 of the school’s students are involved in the production in roles such as actors, stage crew or musicians.
“The students are really taking ownership of their jobs whether it’s acting, prop-making, stage management, sound cues, etc., said teacher Julie Tourtellotte who is in charge of the production. They have all been going above and beyond in the quality of their work.”
Students have been rehearsing since early March and are still working hard to improve their parts. The parent club has been helping with supervision, rehearsals, providing snacks, organizing costumes, running the snack concession at the performances, working with students on their parts, and much more.
“The kids are so excited about the play, and that enthusiasm and positive energy makes all the work worth it,” said Tourtellotte. “We’d love to have everyone who is interested come by and see it.”
