An End of Year message from Superintendent Andy Bellando

As we wrap up the 2014-2015 school year, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on some of the many successes we’ve shared.  I’m proud to say that our educators, families and community members are living the District mission by working together toward the success of our students. We truly are cultivating character and academic growth in each student, every day.

This past year came with a lot to be proud of.  Students excelled in all subjects, especially reading and math.  More schools began robotics programs.  The district qualified for multiple grants including seismic grants to upgrade two facilities and a professional development grant to help all of our educators improve.  The high school hosted the State FFA Convention and all schools in the district had active Battle of the Books teams.  Community members donated more volunteer hours than ever in the past.  All of our students continue to excel in the academic, activity and athletic arenas. And we certainly haven’t forgotten that our high school boys’ basketball team brought home the first OSAA state championship in over 100 years!

All of our District achievements would not be possible without the support of our staff, parents, and community members. Every day, these individuals take time and energy to provide our students with the best education and support possible to help them reach their highest potential. I want you all to know that your work and partnership do not go unnoticed and are greatly appreciated.

After the busy and challenging year we’ve had, I would say a few months rest is well-deserved. On behalf of the entire Silver Falls School District Team, I want to wish you all a safe, relaxing summer spent with your families.

We will see you back in school on September 8th and I look forward to another successful year in the Silver Falls School District.
